Why We Meet

Isaiah 40:30-31: Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young
man shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall
renew their
strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and
not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
We meet to wait on the Lord and renew our strength. We meet
to worship God. We meet to find our reason.
1. We
meet at Bread of Life Church on Monday nights at 5 PM to glorify God and
draw closer to Him. (1 Corinthians 6:20; James 4:8).
2. We
all have gifts given to us by God and His Holy Spirit. We come together to
discover these gifts and stir them up and use them in our lives. (1
Corinthians 12:4-11; 2 Timothy 1:6-7)
3. We
meet to pray. We pray for our leaders in the church and the world. We pray
for families and individuals. Our main focus of prayer is the youth in this
hour, as Satan is trying to destroy this generation through drugs, sex,
suicide, abortion, etc. (John 10:10; Isaiah 56:7; Matthew 21:13; Matthew
18:19; 1 Thessalonians 5:17)
4. We
meet to learn the word of God, and to learn how to discern His voice as he
speaks to us through the written word, song and prophetically. (2 Timothy
3:16; Ephesians 5:18-19; Acts 2:17)
5. We
meet to fellowship and build Godly relationships for the furtherance of
God’s Kingdom. (1 John 1:7; Matthew 18:19; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)
Outreach Purposes
The Lord gave us the
command to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…” (Matthew
28:19), so that is what we have set our hearts to do. As a team we take the
gospel of Jesus Christ and what the Lord is teaching us and share it with
others. God has opened many doors for F.Y.R. to share with youth groups,
hold youth rallies and to travel on mission trips, etc.
As we go our desire is
to let the youth in this hour know that Jesus Christ is the Lord of all and
that He has a purpose for their lives. It is a message of hope and love.
Our goal is to impart to young people the desire to seek God in His written
word, in prayer, and in song, worshipping Him for who He is. We want to see
the power of God released in the youth in this hour.
